This class is designed to introduce beginning young artists to some foundations in Art; namely to the 7 elements of art. Each Week we will look at a different element of art and will continue to do so over the next 7 weeks The class will start with introducing an elemnt of art through a slideshow and then followed by directed drawing, coloring to learn the concept. The coloring will involve crayons, markers and tempera paints.At the end of the class, the student would have learnt about the element and have a beautiful, completed piece of art at the end of it. We will learn about lines, shapes, form,color,texture,space The class can run from 45-60 mins depending on the class size and the number of students enrolled. A detailed supply list will be posted at the beginning of each class. Genearlly, they will need crayons, markers and Tempera paints through the entire duration of the class. Great introduction to some Art Theory and drawing and coloring using crayons,markers and some tempera paints. Perfect for anyone. wanting to learn about the main foundations of art design and art composition.

Good Quality Drawing Book paper Crayons Markers Tempera or Acrylic Paints Watercolors 3 Brushes - 1 thick , Medium and 1 thin Water, rag and palatte on the days there is some painting Black Sharoie Pencil and eraser Any other supplies will be posted at least 48 hours efore class if needed.

I am a full time established artist, a mom, a teacher and and part time volunteer
I have been painting since forever, and have had formal training in all mediums like oils, pastels, watercolors,charcoal etc. This love for art and creativity has led to a full time career as an exhibiting, commercial artist with my works shown in galleries, shows and private collections. My art had also been sold on Williams Sonoma, One Kings Lane and featured in NY billboards and Popsugar.com, to name a few.
Painting is my passion, and so is teaching. I love art, kids, teaching and technology, so this is the perfect place for me combine all this here and to share some skills with wonderful students here.
They can continue to use the techniques that they will learn in the class room , to create their own masterpieces in a learnt art tradition or anything else that they pick up in class.I want my students to feel great about the artwork they create and enjoy their learning experiences.
