We will then talk about the character sheet, challenge resolution, and touch on the role of the Dungeon Master. Students will learn the basic concepts of the game, basic game mechanics, how a character works and how to observe the social contract of D&D groups. The class is designed to give the learner enough information and familiarity to decide if they like the game and be able to join a group. Given the expansive rules set and detail, learning as they go will also be essential.
I've been playing D&D for over 40 years. I've played every edition and spent most of my time as the Dungeon Master. I've created entire worlds with dynamic backgrounds, illustrious characters, and exciting storylines. I think I have an excellent understanding of the game and how to get new players familiar with many aspects of the game to prepare them to have an excellent experience.

I'm a parent of two wonderful, unschooled boys. I've tried to expose them to all types of learning from many different areas. I'm always pushing them to question and to think critically. We have traveled the world and embraced learning from all...
