Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This is a personalized 1-on-1 class where I’ll work with your child to explore key middle school Probability concepts at a pace that feels comfortable for them. Each 45-minute session will focus on one topic starting from basics to solving problems together.
We will begin each lesson by clearly explaining the core concept, using real-world examples to illustrate how that applies in everyday situations. Then, we’ll dive into interactive problem-solving together, where your child will apply what they've learned with my guidance. I will adjust the pace based on the student’s understanding to ensure they feel confident with the material before moving on.
Throughout the course, I will cover the following topics:
1.	Counting & Operations: List numbers, addition/subtraction, and counting multiple events.
2.	Permutations: Understanding and calculating permutations, including counting pairs of items.
3.	Combinations: Learning how to compute combinations and use them in scenarios like forming committees.
4.	Probability: Introducing basic concepts like probability, fair outcomes, and probability rules for addition and multiplication.
5.	Expected Value: Explaining expected value with examples and problem-solving to deepen understanding.
My teaching style is patient, engaging, and interactive. I will use a mix of explanations, guided practice, and problem-solving to ensure your child not only understands the theory but can apply it confidently. There will be a lot of direct interaction through discussions, solving problems together, and occasional quizzes to assess progress.
Parents can expect their child to engage actively with the material, ask questions, and participate in discussions, ensuring a deeper understanding of each concept. My goal is to make learning math an enjoyable and rewarding experience!
