Assignments

1 hour per week. Each lesson may present the learner to try something seen on a worksheet assignment, which may be up to 30 minutes, to help learner remember words or games to help learners remember cosmetology definitions word and to build upon. Feedback on assignments asked to turn in to show work done.

Letter Grade

When learners have finished the lesson, a grade will show that the learner understood and completed each assignment.

Introduction to Cosmetology will explain what is cosmetology and cosmetologist, offering the basic definitions, what a cosmetologist do and the career path of a cosmetologist. 

Assignments: Practice what you have learned through pre-recorded video, writing assignments and worksheet.

Material: Most items for this class you may already have in the home, however you can purchase at you local dollar store or beauty store.

Learning Goals

The end goal for this lesson is for learners to know what is cosmetology, the role of a cosmetologist and how to obtain your cosmetology license. This will give the learner an idea if this is worth pursuing!

I am Mrs. Gist! I have an Associates degree in Applied Science Computer and Information Science Medical Administration. I am a licensed Cosmetologist with 16 years in the industry and 5 years as a Cosmetology Instructor and Cosmetologist Teacher. I am also certified in eyelash extension.  I am still behind the chair in the salon.  I have owned two salons and I now rent a chair/suite. I am skilled in design principles, skincare, nail care, chemical texturizing, haircutting, and hair coloring.
