includedClass Experience
In this 12-week, FLEX Spanish class, students will learn basic vocabulary surrounding a variety of topics (please see the schedule below). This class does not meet live. Students interact with each other and with me through postings in the platform classroom. Prefer a live class? Find this content in a live class format at: https://outschool.com/classes/introduction-to-conversational-spanish-for-teens-4HOkTCHq?usid=pQEpFQR9&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link Each week will provide an introduction video for students to both see and hear the vocabulary. This video will also explain that week’s assignments. This is a basic-level class, appropriate for elementary-aged students with little to no experience with the language. Subtitles on the video, as well as a transcript of each video, will also be provided to assist learners who process information visually. Each week the expectation will be: -Students will watch the video provided. -Students will post a video of their speaking assignment each week (based on that week’s topic). -Students will complete a worksheet based on that week’s topic. -Students will complete a creative assignment. Week 12: Show us what you know! - A review of all our topics In addition to the weekly video and assignments, I will provide video feedback to each student’s speaking video, individually. This will assist students with their pronunciation. Written feedback will be provided on both the worksheets and the creative assignment. If students have questions or need extra assistance, they are encouraged to contact me through the classroom. I will provide a written or video response depending on the question at hand. I feel that children should be encouraged to follow their passions. Children need to know that they can have what they want for their lives if they have the correct tools and motivation to get there. I hope to help build confidence in my students and to give them some of those tools. I also believe that not every child learns the same way. Education is not a one-size-fits-all experience. I look forward to helping your child learn how they learn. While I offer an extensive collection of class content choices, my specialty is meeting students where they’re at and making the course material accessible to all students, regardless of the topic. I love to be silly with my students and encourage interaction in all of my classes. I want learners to feel at ease and safe to be themselves in my classroom. My small class sizes and relaxed, encouraging teaching style allow me to tailor my classes to each student’s needs and learning style, resulting in learners walking away from class confident and smiling.
Learning Goals
Students will be exposed to a new language and have an introductory-level vocabulary by the end of the session.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Southern New Hampshire University
I am a homeschooling mom of five kids, ranging in age from ten to nineteen. We are diving into our 6th year of homeschooling and we love it. I have a passion for both education and creativity and I love combining the two whenever I can. When I'm not teaching (my kids or someone else's), I run a business based purely on creativity and art.
Traveling (and 8 years of formal classes) gave me a handle on the Spanish language. I have a background in general education from 19 years of combined experience teaching in public and charter school settings, as well as tutoring one on one, ESL, and running various camps and activities. My experience ranges from childcare (infant) age all the way through high school age and includes work with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as students with mental health issues.
I have a passion for, and educational background in Graphic Art/Design, however, my degrees are AA in Liberal Studies and a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. I am also TESOL certified.
