This course will go over how to use basic music theory to create your own composition and how to arrange pieces of music to be played with one instrument to a completely different one. We will cover many topics such as key signatures, instrumental ranges, how to be your own composer, and how to transpose music easily. We will discuss the different instrument families and We will be utilizing worksheets, whiteboard examples, and screen share documents to be able to visualize all the different...
Students will improve their knowledge of music theory by being creative in their own compositions and arrangements
Students will need to spend time outside of class time to compose their own musical piece. After each lesson time there will be an assignment to work towards the end goal of a completed masterpiece of music.
Pencil, lined notebook paper or manuscript paper to create your own musical staves.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
