In this course, we will look at balancing equations from a beginners perspective. This is a one-time course that will have your child ready to tackle their upcoming science class. It is also a great refresher for students looking to brush up on their prior knowledge. We will start with reviewing terminology and the basic math skills necessary to balance equations on a set of prepared slides. We will discuss the purpose of balancing equations and we will go over the steps necessary to balancing equations. We will end the class by working practice problems together.

Students will be familiar with terminology, basic math skills, and the steps necessary to balancing chemical equations.

My experience comes from a lifelong love for science. I have my bachelor's degree in biology. I taught a science and math academy at my university upon graduation. I interned at international science and technology graduate university in Japan. I taught high school chemistry, biology, and physical science for 6 years. I was awarded DOW Chemical Company's NSTA Fellowship for 2012-2014 school year. I was a part of the first ever STEMcon scholars in 2014. This was a program developed by NASA to help teachers learn real-world applications that they could replicate in their classroom.
