Description

Class Experience

The course will discuss some details about how cartoons are drawn including styles and technical advice. Emphasis will be put on using expressions to convey humor and emotion. Class begins with a short demonstration of how cartoons simplify to tell an effective story quickly. Students will then work on their own cartoons with feedback from the teacher. Students will learn how simple drawing can express emotion and how comic strips are created for print or web.

I am a lifelong artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from University of Massachusetts. I’ve published three different weekly web comics strips.

Students will need a sketchbook, pencil, eraser and a black marker. Colored markers are optional.
