Description

Class Experience

The learning goals for this Introduction to Canva course include the following:

Familiarization with Canva: Students will be able to understand the different tools and features available on Canva and how to navigate the platform.

Design basics: Students will be introduced to the basics of design principles such as color, typography, graphics, photos, and layout.

Students will learn how to design for various purposes such as posters, flyers, greeting cards, infographics, collages, magazine covers, and T-shirts.

Customization: Students will be able to customize pre-made templates with their own colors, images, and text.

Technical skills: Students will learn basic technical skills such as image sizing, aspect ratios, exporting designs, and composition.

Creativity: Students will be encouraged to experiment with different design options and think creatively when creating their designs.

By the end of the course, students will be able to create a wide range of designs for different purposes, have the technical skills to export designs, and understand basic design principles.
I have over 20-years of experience in graphic design and regularly use Canva to create various projects such as logos, greeting cards, T-Shirt graphics, photo collages, coloring books, and web design. 
Most work will be completed in class however students may occasionally want to add to or enhance projects outside of class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students must have access to Canva to complete this class. Canva requires an account that is free of charge for the basic version.
