What do British people mean when they talk? In this introduction to British English, students will virtually visit England and practice the mother tongue with a true Brit! This is an interactive students and students will each practice using the new words and phrases in their own sentences. They'll learn to enunciate the h on herb and learn the difference between gutted and chuffed. Do you prefer chips or crisps? What's the difference? There will be two review slides to reinforce learning and review the new phrases. I can't wait to see you in class! Cheerio!
Learning Goals
After taking this class, students can rightly claim they can speak a second language: British English! Students will learn British phrases and will be able to use these phrases in their own sentences.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I was born in Bath, England and attended school there. I have lived in United States for my adult life. I taught a class "Jane Austen's England" at Lynn University. I love connecting American students with the British culture and expanding their horizons with new vocabulary.
