Portuguese is my second language of 20+ years. I have a love for the language, culture, and people of Brazil, and I love to share that knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion with my learners. Furthermore, because of my professional background in studying phonology and linguistics in teaching English as a second language, I have a unique perspective and understanding on how to teach and learn language. Plus, I find language and culture learning fun!
Weekly vocabulary homework and practice activities will be assigned. Overall, the homework load for this course is light as it mostly requires reviewing and practicing the weekly vocabulary.
Assignments for this class will not be formally graded or assessed. Within our class sessions, feedback will be given on proper pronunciation and phrasing with emphasis on practicing to improve.
