Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to identify various hive parts and bee keeping equipment. Students will be able to identify pros and cons of different bee breeds. Students will be able to identify pests and diseases commonly afflicting honeybees and discuss mitigation.
Week 1 - Commercial Hives and Equipment - Shopping List Assignment Week 2 - Bee Breeds - Essay Week 3 - Pests and Disease - Essay Week 4 - Honey Extraction - Honey Sales Assignment
Pencil/paper for note taking may be beneficial. Handouts will be provided.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
