This is a beginner class starting with the very basics of the electric bass. Recommended for complete beginners but others may benefit too!
Class experience
In this beginner bass lesson, we will focus on covering the main parts of the bass, how to play the bass, and then we will learn an easy song. Starting from the very beginning, it's important to learn the parts of the bass as well as how to tune the bass which we will practice together. Following this, we will cover how to hold the bass properly as well as play notes. After learning these basics, we will learn a fun song together. In our lesson I like to make sure I'm able to hear everyone...
Students will get a fundamental understanding of bass playing and be able to practice techniques on their own after the lesson.
I have a bachelors degree in music and have played electric bass for 12 years now. I have 3 years experience teaching bass, guitar, and piano.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be using the Fender website to tune their bass. No account is reaquired. We will also be using Youtube to listen to a song we will be learning in the class.
We will be referring to some class notes which I will send out.
