Average rating:5.0Number of reviews:(7)
Introduction to Basketball Academy will focus on basketball skill development via live instruction and drills, in which participants will work on ball-handling, footwork/defense, rebounding, cardio/conditioning, and body weight exercises.

Class experience

Learners will improve their understanding of the fundamentals of basketball including ball control, executing movements without looking at the ball or the ground, dribbling the ball with one hand (emphasis placed on use of fingers to control the ball), basic dribbling moves, triple threat position, protecting the ball, pivoting, jab stepping, defensive stance/footwork, and improving cardio/conditioning.
My basketball experiences include: playing high school basketball for a top program in the Washington, D.C. area/nation with Paul VI Catholic High School where I was named 2006 Washington Post 1st Team All-Met, 2006, Virginia Independent Schools State Player of the Year, 2006 WCAC 1st Team All-Conference, playing college basketball for The College of William & Mary on a full 4-year basketball scholarship and scoring over 1,000 points in my collegiate career, and playing for professional teams both overseas (e.g. Germany, Iceland) and domestically (e.g. NBA D-League for the Erie Bay Hawks). I have the ability to work with learners to help them reach their goals, whether it be to leisurely learn about basketball or to become a skilled competitive athlete.

Please make sure that learners are in a safe and open space to perform basketball drills. Dangerous and fragile objects should be removed from the space in the event of loss of ball control.
