Description

Class Experience

Students will conceptualization their art projects from start to finish, follow through with their concept by planning and executing a completed project, and demonstrate artistic techniques and connections.
I have a Degree in Graphic Design, a Bachelor of Science, and over 20 years of working experience in art and graphic design including being the CEO of Little Daisy Media. I believe that the art of graphic design, or at the very least an appreciation for that art, is something that everyone should practice. Graphic design floods our visual perception from everywhere, from the products we buy to the advertisements we are exposed to. I want to share my knowledge of graphic design so that kids understand the basic elements and can build on that to become creative critical thinkers.
This is a sustained investigation that requires students to dedicate time to research their essential question, plan, prepare, revise, document, and execute their projects.
Student supplies depend on their planned projects. Through the planning process, they will make their own comprehensive art supply list.
Looking for High School Art credit? This class can count as one semester of high school art. Please reach out to me for specific assessment needs. Class assessments are based on the following: class participation, time management, and demonstration of commitment to sustained investigation. Students looking to submit portfolio for the AP exam or scholarship, or college programs must let me know up front so we can work with the requirements of the program.

Assessments will be based on a 0-5 scale rating.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
