Description

Class Experience

This course is designed for students that have an interest in the human body. Students will engage in interactive lessons and lab activities that provide a strong foundational knowledge of the anatomical systems of the human body. Using movement labs, games, and interactive coloring students will gain a deeper understanding of anatomy and physiology. Students will build foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

I hold a Bachelors of science in Health Sciences and a Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. I am a full-time healthcare professional (resident orthotist). I have been a science educator for over 6 years.

Construction paper- at least 5 colors 
Coloring pencils
Access to a printer is strongly recommended 
Glue or tape 
pipe cleaners- 3-4 colors 
Craft beads- 2 colors

Students will answer knowledge check trivia questions each week.

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

There will be images of muscles and organs presented in this class. Most images will be drawn or electronically generated; however, there may be some photos of  live or cadaver based anatomical structures. If your child has a sensitivity to such images lease let me know. 

Students may be asked to participate in several movement based activities. Some of these activities ay require an open space.

All handouts and notes will be provided ;however, anatomy textbooks and coloring books can be a fantastic additional resource for students. I recommend Netter's Anatomy Coloring book.
