Description
Class Experience
Students will build foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
I hold a Bachelors of science in Health Sciences and a Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. I am a full-time healthcare professional (resident orthotist). I have been a science educator for over 6 years.
Students will have supplemental, optional homework assignments such as coloring assignments. These are designed to increase knowledge retention and should take no more than 20 minutes. Students who opt to complete these assignments will end the course with comprehensive notes to utilize in future educational settings.
Colored pencils Access to a printer is highly recommended
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will participate in knowledge checks to identify areas of strength and confusion. I will also provide a written report for each students at the end of the course.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There will be images of muscles and organs presented in this class. Most images will be drawn or electronically generated; however, there may be some photos of live or cadaver based anatomical structures. If your child has a sensitivity to such images lease let me know. We will briefly discuss the reproductive system as it relates to anatomical function and the systems of the body. Parents will be provided on the resources involved in this lesson prior to the class.
All handouts and notes will be provided however anatomy textbooks and coloring books can be a fantastic additional resource for students. I recommend Netter's Anatomy Coloring book.
