US Grade 10 - 12
This one-time course will introduce learners to admission essay writing. The focus will be on the Common App Personal Statement, but the knowledge gained can be applied to any admission or scholarship essay. Students will walk away with a folder of resources and the beginning of their brainstorming documents. This class will be structured like a writing workshop, with students having the opportunity to share and discuss ideas. We will use NearPod and Padlet to deliver instruction and allow students to participate in collaborative activities and discussions. What will we cover? - Common essay requirements and expectations - Common essay prompts - Dos and Don'ts when choosing a prompt - Tips and Tricks from an expert - Q and A - The writing process - Start brainstorming documents If you are looking for guidance as you approach college applications, this is the class for you!
