Class Experience
This one-time course will introduce learners to admission essay writing. The focus will be on the Common App Personal Statement, but the knowledge gained can be applied to any admission or scholarship essay. Students will walk away with a folder of resources and the beginning of their brainstorming documents. Students will walk away with a better understanding of admissions and scholarship essays, as well as a folder of resources and the beginning of their brainstorming documents.
I have been teaching English and ESOL for the past 10 years. I am also an Academic Success Coach and Writing Coach.
Students will receive a timeline and guide to completing their Common App essay, whether they choose to continue individually or sign up for future classes with me.
Digital resources will be provided.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
If students choose to continue in this class series, they will receive rubrics and feedback throughout the writing process.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
