Introduction to Acrylic Puddle Pour Painting Class
Class experience
In this class, students will learn a fluid acrylic art technique called a puddle pour. It is a technique that uses fluid acrylic paints layered on top of each other or poured into puddles on the canvas. They will then swirl or move the puddles of paint to cover the entire canvas. I will go over my basic acrylic pour recipe that uses floetrol and instruct each student on how to properly seal their artwork. I will be working with the students in real time, showing them how to mix their paints,...
Students will learn my fluid acrylic pour technique called a puddle pour. They will learn my basic acrylic fluid art paint recipe using floetrol. Each student will be able to create their own artwork and touch into their creative side!
At least 3 different colors of acrylic paints or fluid acrylic paints (art paint, not house paint), Black and/or White acrylic art paint, popsicle sticks, and 8" x 8" or 6" x 6" stretched canvas, mixing cups - one for each color of paint (I use 2 oz, 3 oz, and 5 oz. - depending on how big the canvas), an area lined with newspaper (floors should be protected as well), an apron or old shirt (paints are water based and will wash off of hands, but it will stain clothing), water (as needed to thin out paints for pouring), floetrol (used as part of my pour recipe and used to conditon your paints or pouring medium of your choice), disposable gloves (optional), 4 push pins (put into the back side of canvas at each corner)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
For the younger aged children, parents may need to help with pouring and tilting the paint around the canvas. Parents are also encouraged to help with the floetrol (I put my floetrol into a smaller squeeze bottle for easier pouring). Parents will also be needed with help for clean up and set up and to seal their childs dried artwork.
