During this class, young artists will be learning how to first draw an octopus which incorporates many lines and use of space on the canvas or paper. After drawing the octopus, the student will then make decisions on how colorful or realistic they would like their octopus to look. As well, the students will learn how to use their paint brushes and paints for different effects when painting different aspects of their paintings. Materials for this class incude: Canvas or canvas board (any size is ok though 11x14 works well for this painting); Preferably acrylic or tempera paints; Large, medium, and small paint brushes (I recommend angled brushes because of their versatility). Optional supplies: Folk Art glitter paint or glitter medium for acrylics.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
