Bring your art supplies and dress to get messy! In this 4 week workshop, we will create charming paintings while experimenting with various watercolor techniques. Minimal art experience is necessary. If you can properly hold a paintbrush, then you are ready for this class :) We will learn about proper care of our art supplies, basic brush strokes, and how to mix and blend colors. This is a flexible schedule course and there are no live meetings. Weekly video lessons with a project...
After taking art courses at the college level, I have gone on to teach art to both children and adults in professional and private settings. I absolutely love painting and I can't wait to share that passion with my students!
Students will need: An art space that is allowed to get messy! Water, paper towels, and a "palate" for paint (tin foil, wax paper, or a paper plate works well) 11x14 or larger WATERCOLOR canvas or paper- You will achieve different results if it is not specifically made for watercolor paint. 3 paint brushes: 1 wide, 1 medium, 1 small for detail work (A watercolor "wash" brush is recommended.) Watercolor paint palette of 24-30 colors. I purchased mine from Michael's for $8. Masking or painter's tape - optional Colors change based on project. We typically use black, white, and the 6 colors of the rainbow.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students of all ages and abilities are welcome in my classroom! Younger students or those with learning or physical needs may require adult assistance. Please contact me directly if you have a specific concern or need learner accommodations.
