This introductory course is geared towards anyone interested in learning the foundation of voice over. Each week will cover a different topic such as: commercials, animation, video games, anime, script analysis, improvising for voice over, and getting comfortable behind the mic. All while keeping a strong emphasis on story telling and strong acting. Students may bring their own scripts to class, otherwise the teacher will provide material for them. This class is suitable for all levels in voice over, from beginner to advance. Week 1 (6/14/23): Commercial Story - In this week we will analyze commercial auditions from the "Story" perspective. Who are you talking to? Where are you? Why are you talking? Week 2 (6/21/23): Commercial Character - This week we'll cover character building. Stretch out your vocal cords and build a fun character memorable character to stand out! Week 3 (6/28/23): Intro to Animation - Week three we get into animation. We'll go over animated scripts, video games, anime dubbing, and use the prior lessons to build solid characters Week 4 (7/5/23): Animation Technique - This week we'll continue our studies in animated scripts and use everything we've learned to give final reads and see how we've progressed! At the end of week 4, classes will cycle to begin again!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Daniel is an actor hailing from Los Angeles. He earned a BFA in Acting from Emerson College and is currently cast in Nickelodeon’s BIG NATE. Past TV/Film credits include: Lego City Adventures (Nickelodeon), Body of Proof (ABC), Stormageddon (Syfy), Fixed. Regional Theater: American Misfit (The Boston Court Theatre), Nicholas Nickleby (The Lyric Stage Company). New Media: The Lucy WOW Podast (GoKidGo), The Howdy Sheriff Podcast (GoKidGo). Daniel has extensively studied improv at The Groundlings Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade, and Improv Olympic West.
