This class covers everything you need to know about the recording and editing process to become a voice-over artist or to create an audio podcast. We will start with a short discussion of gear (what equipment works best and what is everything used for) and then shift our focus to learning basic audio editing. We will use the (free) software - AUDACITY - and will learn how to record tracks, crop and time shift multi-track recordings, add an audio bed (background music), normalize the tracks,...
We will be using free audio editing software called Audacity. Please have it installed and working on your computer before the first day of class so that you can follow along directly. Hands-on always works better than just trying to remember everything later! It is also often helpful if you watch the class on a separate device (phone/tablet) or if you have a second monitor so that your computer can be running the software full-screen.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
