The instructor will go over the parts of the instrument & the names of the different parts. The teacher will demonstrate the proper way to hold the ukulele and each student will practice getting into the correct playing position multiple times. The instructor will lead students in trying a proper strumming technique. Students will learn the letter names of the strings and will work on finding each one. By the end of the class we will be working on in attempting a first chord on the instrument and students will be ready to go on to the beginner’s ukulele class! No music knowledge needed before this class!

Supply List
If students wish to follow along, they should have their own ukulele to try the activities out on! Although, this class could also be taken by students wishing to learn about the ukulele before deciding to purchase one for sure.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I teach piano lessons, voice lessons, trumpet lessons, and general music lessons! I have taught private music lessons for 20 years now! Wow! Haha! I have my masters degree in piano performance/pedagogy from Bowling Green State University. I love to make music fun & I enjoy working with young children, middle grade & high school students to especially encourage them!
