Description

Class Experience

This is an introductory parts of speech class for children who are just beginning to understand sentences.  Your child will learn what nouns, verbs, and adjectives are and how to identify them in a sentence.  Your child will be introduced to numerous words and will have to decide if it is either a noun, verb, or adjective. I will be using flashcards, objects, and silly dances to help your child distinguish between nouns, verbs, adjectives and other words.

Week 1

After this class, your child will be able to define a noun, verb, and adjective. With this knowledge, you child will be able to identify these parts of speech in a sentence.

Your child will complete a short assignment after each lesson. In each assignment, your child will read sentences and identify the nouns, verbs, and adjectives in each sentence. Depending on your child's reading ability, he or she may need some help with assignments. Assignments should take no longer than ten to fifteen minutes.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
