In this class I will be teaching the basic techniques of Design to develop patterns. We will discuss shapes, colors and space. We will be looking at shapes that make good patterns and find the student's unique style. This course is great for those who aspire to be textile designers, fashion designers or even make their own products. I will be demonstrating how to make block prints out of wood and craft foam, then we will use ink over cotton canvas fabric to print. Each student can choose to...
Students will learn about fabric materials, inks, shapes, space, color and pattern making. They will develop a sense for design and style.
Washing fabric, letting it dry and study color theory. 15 minutes.
First class: paper pencil FOAM paper or CRAFT foam (1 sheet) scissors art/paper cutting board or cardboard small wood blocks or plastic containers or thick plastic lids super glue Second Class: 1-3 different colored fabric paint cotton fabric material half a yard of muslin/ cotton tote bag / cotton napkin/ cotton white t-shirt / cotton bandana, cardboard or plastic bag to cover surface.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental Guidance: please be aware that this class involves hazard tools like scissors, the child might need parental guidance or support while attending the class.
