Class Experience

This is an INTRODUCTORY course
Students will gain the fundamental knowledge of the Spanish-Speaking culture by participating in real-world spoken language.

The class will meet once a week for 50 minutes.

The course will be set up as followed:
Week 1: Food
Week 2: Me gusta/ No me gusta
Week 3: Family and Friends
Week 4: People and places in the city
Week 5: Where do you like to go?
Week 6: Review of Part 1 and 2
I will be teaching lessons using PowerPoint/Slides, games using Kahoot, video clips, and discussions. I expect students to interact with one another so there will be lots of pair-work involved to practice communicating in Spanish. I understand we all do not come from the same background so we will also be working a lot as a whole group.
Usually, for this SECOND part of the Introductory Course, I HIGHLY recommend taking my "Intro to Spanish Pt. 1" course, but it is not a requirement. Most importantly I just want eager learners that are ready to learn a new language and its culture! Can't wait to see you here :)
Learning Goals
-Basic Spanish vocabulary for everyday communication, including greetings, introductions, numbers, and common phrases.
-Pronunciation practice to develop clear and accurate spoken Spanish.
-Cultural insights into Spanish-speaking countries, traditions, and customs.
-Practical language skills for simple conversations, asking and answering questions, and expressing preferences and interests.

We will be using Kahoot as a form of review and practice. No account is necessary. Google slides and Youtube will be shared through my screen. This is mostly for note-taking and no account is necessary. Flipgrid will be used as platform to turn in some homework assignments. This does ask for an account but it is free and we will set up student accounts on the first day of instruction.
