Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Emily and I am currently teaching fitness classes, softball lessons, and online graphic design classes!! I am an exercise fanatic who loves coaching, dancing, arts and crafts, my cat Thompson, and anything softball related!
Check out my Outschool classes to find something that you would like related to fitness, strength training, softball, or even my "Intro to Web Design using Canva" course!
I have been a softball pitching coach for 7 years now, and have loved every second of it! I can't wait to teach you how to become a stronger, smarter, and more efficient softball pitcher!
I pitched competitively for 10 years, 4 of which were at Central Connecticut State University, where I graduated from in 2018 with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science. I started working at Harvard University in June of 2018 and hold two strength and conditioning certifications (National Strength and Conditioning Association, Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association). I was a group fitness instructor for 2 years while in school, working for RECentral and WIP Fitness and am certified through the American Council on Exercise as a Group Fitness Instructor. I am also CPR/AED/First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross.
As a teacher, I have two main goals: to promote a passion for health and wellbeing, and create a space where exercise and fitness are accepted and understood!
As a coach, I have two main goals: to decrease the risk of injury and increase athletic performance, both while promoting a positive and fun training environment.
As a pitching coach, I hold my pitchers to the standards of composure, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Being a softball pitcher comes with its own challenges and frustrations, and I share my experiences to help young pitchers be able to stay calm on the mound, stay excited in the dugout, AND be a leader and team player.
When I am not coaching, I love to make my own workout videos on iMovie, help my mom out at her restaurant in my home town, or hang out with my cat, Thompson. I have a huge family (9 siblings!) and love to see them or talk to them whenever I can. I also recently got a firepit at my house, and I love to make s'mores by the fire.
I am excited to meet you and help you find your passion for exercise, fitness, or softball pitching!!! I hope you choose one of my classes!
