Students will learn a professional vocal technique.  We will train the voice each week by learning vocal technique exercises and how to properly do these exercises.  We will apply the technique to carefully selected songs for the young singer from the popular music, Disney and Broadway song repertoire.  Class size is kept small so students can have individual attention each week to ensure proper production of exercises/songs.  Students will begin to learn how to use the voice throughout the chest, mix and head voice registers and apply this knowledge to favorite song melodies.  The focus of this class is on learning vocal technique exercises and musical patterns.  (These same patterns and exercises are used in the other Singing Technique & Repertoire classes).  As the musical patterns become familiar, the singer’s instrument becomes more relaxed, proper coordination becomes easier, and our attention can be used on proper placement/execution.  Musical recordings will be posted in the classroom each week for singers to listen to and practice.
 Prerequisite: A desire to sing!  Learner progress will be evaluated each week by performance in class.  Note:  This class can be repeated as it takes time to integrate the technique into the voice.  We will work with different song melodies.
