In a small group interactive environment, we will walk through the steps on how to make a small to medium sized drawstring pouch. The same techniques can be used to make a larger bag afterwards if the student desires. The class will cover the construction of the pouch, but will not cover introduction to sewing machine use. Students should be familiar enough with the machine that they can thread and rethread it if needed (or have someone nearby who can help if that is needed) as well as how to work the pedal. We will discuss basic machine safety and technique, but will not go into detail about each machine. This is due to everyone having a different machine available, and each one being slightly different. These pouches are useful for any number of items and also make great gifts!
Learning Goals
Students will end the class with a completed pouch and the skills to make more.
