In this class we will learn the proper way to hold scissors and practice opening and closing the scissors with a song. We will then practice this skill by cutting a plastic straw. This is good practice for kids learning how to cut. Straws give some resistance (working on muscles) but they are cut with one snip of the scissors (high success rate). Also kids love to see the piece of the straw they cut go flying off. (side note: there will be a slight mess to clean up after class.) After we...
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to open and close their scissors to make snips on a piece of paper working towards cutting a line down a piece of paper.
You will be given some scissor practice sheets you can use on your own time to practice cutting if you want.
For this class you will need child scissors, a plastic straw, and a couple of sheets of paper. Note: I would have a couple of straws ready just in case.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental supervision is required for the use of scissors.
