Do your kids want to start roller skating? How about roller dancing!? In this class students will learn how to start roller skating, starting with safety! Students will learn roller skating basics and then be introduced to roller dancing. Your instructor Coach Andrea will focus on safety first and fun second! We will play music and have a great time. Students will need roller skates, a small smooth space to skate at home (kitchen, garage, etc) , and a helmet - a bike helmet is fine. Other safety gear like wrist guards, knee and elbow pads are encouraged.
Learning Goals
Students will start by learning how to safely stand up, and stand in roller skates in the safety pose. Students will learn what to do if they feel like they are about to fall. They will learn skating basics (skating stride forwards and backwards, gliding, stopping) that they can practice at home and then will learn small space roller dance moves to music!
