In this multi-day class students will be given topics to research, a note sheet, and will report to class to present their findings. This will help students learn how to research, how to navigate resources, how to collect information, and practice presenting their findings to their peers. When students have the opportunity to practice speaking in front of others in a small group setting, they can build their confidence, prepare for questions and answers, and learn to communicate important information in a less stressful environment before venturing off to present in front of larger classrooms or groups. Day 1: Introductions, discuss what research is, where to find information, types of websites that will have more accurate information, explain how to document their findings on their note sheet, review the topics for the upcoming weeks, and discuss various ways they can present to the class. Day 2: Student presentations- Students will be presenting research on an animal. Day 3: Student presentations- Students will be presenting research on the pros and cons of a debate topic. Day 4: Student presentations- Students will be presenting research on a career path. Day 5: Student presentations- Students will be presenting research on a topic of choice (they will send their idea to the teacher for approval prior to beginning their research to ensure it is class friendly) Enrolled learners will receive note sheets but are welcome to use their own as well. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and student-centered. I enjoy adding animations, pictures, audio, videos, and tangible examples for students to remain engaged. I encourage and promote class discussion (both verbally and in the chatbox features) Classes must meet the minimum of 3 learners in order to proceed. It is important that we have at least 3 students enrolled for social interaction, questions and answers, small group audience for presentations, and for the class to be the most effective.
