We will debate a different resolution each week and every learner will be given the opportunity to share their initial thoughts using a provided speech format. The learning objectives are : - Use critical thinking skills to formulate an opinion - Gain the self-confidence to present and defend their opinion - Utilize listening skills to be able to respond to the opposite side. (Listening is just as important as speaking in debate!)
Learners are encouraged to think about the next topic ahead of class in order to present a better case. However, this is not required.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
