As a professional, working artist, I have been using the Procreate app as my main tool for creating artwork over the past 5 years.
Students are expected to complete the same series of tasks each week: 1. Download the Images & Resources 2. Watch the Lesson Videos and complete the project using Procreate 4. Post the project to that week's classroom post as a comment 5. Leave a comment reply on a classmate's project 6. Take an online quiz to test their new knowledge.
8 files available upon enrollment✔️ iPad: The Procreate app is currently only available on the iPad. ✔️ Up to date Procreate app: This is $9.99 in the App Store, but well worth the investment. ✔️ Apple Pencil: I highly recommend using an Apple Pencil for best results and pressure sensitivity when drawing. However, any stylus can be used or even your finger.
Students will use the online Outschool classroom to ask questions, post their projects, and gain feedback from their peers. I will provide feedback on posted projects as well. There will also be an online quiz available each week that learners can take to test their new Procreate app knowledge.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
PROCREATE: We will be creating digital art on the Procreate app for iPads during class. This is a third-party app that will need to be downloaded onto the learner's iPad device. You will not need to create an account to use this app. All of your Procreate data is tied to your iPad and your Apple ID. YOUTUBE: My lesson videos will be uploaded and shared in the Outschool classroom as a YouTube link. However, Outschool will automatically embed the link so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website. KAHOOT: Each week, there will be an online quiz available that learners can take to test their new Procreate app knowledge. Quizzes will be made and taken using Kahoot.com, an online game-based learning platform. At the beginning of each new week, I will share a link to access the Kahoot quiz. The learner will simply need to enter their name and click to start the quiz/game. You will not need to create an account to take the quiz.
