Note: It will be extremely beneficial (necessary) to take the first four "Intro to Procreate" classes before taking this class. Across the board, every student that has skipped the first classes has not been equipped to keep up with students that take the Intro courses in order. In this class we will continue to explore the wonder of the Procreate app as we look at: Breaking the rules with color and texture. Up to this point in the Intro series, we have behaved with color and texture--in this class we will unravel these rules with exploding color and texture- that adds interest and dimension to your pieces. Dynamic shading and highlighting. (Painting with different colors to bring out warm and cool tones, a change from what was introduced in the first classes. We will expand and reinforce these new methods). Composition and color palette choices. We will play with different shadows and highlights to create dramatic effects and look at how shadows and highlights can enhance and/or distract. Join me and learn how to make your creations "POP" off the screen!! This is the FIFTH class in the "Intro to Procreate" series. **Please note: If your student has NOT taken the prerequisite classes (this is the 5th in my Intro series) - I reinforce concepts already covered in previous classes at an accelerated pace as much of the program is assumed by the fifth class. In this class we begin to work with color and texture and begin breaking the rules** It is strongly encouraged to take these classes in order.

I love teaching art to creative young minds and have taught in my community for over 15 years! I have taught homeschool art classes from ages 5-18 and I have also had the privilege of teaching art at local preschools AND I have taught art at nursing homes and retirement communities. This has given me to chance to teach from ages 2-92! I love exploring creativity through the lens of "You can do it - and I can teach you how!" No matter a student's current ability, with proven visual aids and assistance, I can help my students reach their personal goals. If they have the passion to learn, they WILL improve their skills!
As a means to help my students, I am continually improving my own skills, I stay current by continually practicing my own art and learning new techniques, while working with my agent in licensing my artwork. I stay current in my field so that I can keep my students current on trends and methodology.
It is my joy to learn and to teach!
Please note:
*My classes cover a lot of material and are jam-packed full of information that deal with the nuts and bolts of the apps that I teach.
*My classes are fast-paced and full of information and practical applications.
*For most classes, uploads are required before class begins. Please check the classroom beforehand to ensure that all the files are loaded and ready to go in the Procreate gallery. We need every second of class time for instruction.
*I strongly encourage students to take my classes in order. There are many things to be learned in each class and each lesson builds on material presented in the previous classes.
*While I am teaching, I can not answer emails and try to honor my families time by keeping office hours of M-Fr 9-5 for communications.
One last note: It is better for your student to take my classes on two devices ---one to draw on and one to watch the Zoom class! If this is not an option, remember that the recordings will be available after class!! My classes are jam packed with information and tend to move quickly!
