Class Experience

Students will study chemistry within a Harry Potter themed Potions course! In class one we will travel to Diagon Alley to learn about Potions/lab equipment, potions safety, and experiment with invisible ink from Weasleys Wizard Wheezes. In class two we will learn about matter by classifying ingredients like dragon's breath, bat wings, and unicorn tears. We will also brew liquid luck. In class three we will learn changes of state by making a bubbling brew. In class four we take a field trip to Madam Puttifoots' Tea shop to learn about the PH scale. We will create a magnetic Slughorn slime, and a disintegrating draught in classes five and six as we study the periodic table. We will study osmosis in class seven by making a swelling potion and its shrinking antidote. We will conclude the class series by making Dragon toothpaste and experimenting with Dementors' breath as we study chemical reactions! I have eight additional classes in Potions Year Two! Flex option is available.

Each lesson will include a welcome discussion, lecture, and activity or experiment.
