Learners will learn to form single and double digit numbers, basic addition and subtraction using an abacus. Abacus' are more than cute nursery decorations. They can be a great way to visualize math. Don't have an abacus? No problem! Make your own abacus with beads and pipe cleaner. Follow instruction on this website: https://www.coffeecupsandcrayons.com/how-to-make-an-abacus-at-home/ Each week learners will develop counting and math skills through songs, stories, games, and playing with the abacus. Week 1 will focus on learning the order and identifying single and double digit numbers. Week 2 will review previous lesson and focus on adding single digit numbers. Week 3 will review previous lessons and focus on subtracting single digit numbers. As with all my classes, lesson will be taught with energy and humor to make learning fun! I hope I can count on you to join me in class.
