Class Experience

This one-time class will provide each learner with the tools to begin practicing gratitude and learn about its values and uses. This class will provide students with the foundation of habitual practice and intention at the beginning of their day; enabling them to better care for their wellbeing through the acts of writing and movement.

I believe dance is this wonderful art form that gives us the space to come alive. As an educator, my main objective is creating a safe space where students can try, learn, and thrive.
I have studied dance for over 10 years. And I have been teaching students for 6 years.
I have experience working with Master of Fine Arts graduates on their theses. I partook as both a researcher and dance performer. The research conducted involved somatic movement, journaling, and dance improvisation.
I also have a great interest in literature related to healthy habits, somatic movement, and journaling.
After this class, students are encouraged to practice these skills throughout their week. Research suggests that 1-3 times per week of gratitude journaling has the greatest impact on our wellbeing.

If you would like to continue these healthy practices with guidance or a student cohort, we have an ongoing (weekly or drop-in) class that focuses on the journaling and movement portion of this class. Start and end your week with healthy habits!
We only need the following things: - Pencil - Notebook Paper - Space to move and stretch
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class involves physical activities, students will need an open space to freely move and stretch during the class.
Students are recommended to take the class barefoot. Or students can put on a pair of properly fitting footwear prior to class time!
