1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This class is an introduction to making 3D art with Blender -- we will be learning the basics of the Blender software, how to add objects to a scene, apply textures and lighting to those objects, and rendering out a finished image. Whether you want to make animations, movies or games -- this class and Blender, the software we're learning, is a great place to start! This is a live class -- no slides. I'll be walking you through what I'm doing while I'm doing it, and you'll see the keys I'm using on the screen, as well as hearing me tell you what to do -- and don't worry! You'll have a chance to ask questions along the way. Some learners may want to follow along and do what I'm doing onscreen live, while I'm doing it, but that's not always optimal for all learners. It's okay! I'll be providing my project files once it's over (so you can examine my exact results), and the video will be available for replay as well. Many learners find the ability to go back and watch and re-watch the lesson as needed very helpful. In this foundational class, you will learn: - The basics of Blender, a free 3D rendering program - How to create, move and manipulate objects, lights and cameras in 3D space - How to add lights, materials and textures to objects - How to use the different rendering options included in Blender - How to render and save a finished image While this class doesn't cover some of the more advanced Blender topics, it's meant to give the learner a solid foundation so they can explore further Blender topics on their own, or in other classes, like my Fun 3D Word Art With Blender class, which is a great followup to this one: https://outschool.com/classes/fun-3d-word-art-with-blender-nSHyuUeI#abl1hsdnff No previous experience in 3D required.
Learning Goals
After this class, learners will feel confident with the basic Blender interface and several aspects including transformation of objects, basic materials, lighting, and rendering.
