Lyrical is a dance genre that uses both ballet and jazz techniques. It teaches emoting and expression through movement. In this lyrical dance class, students will learn to express a variety of emotions through their body language and facial expressions. As this is a beginner's class, no prior experience with lyrical dance is required; however, familiarity with dance of other genre is recommended as although this is a beginning lyrical class, the techniques are intermediate/advanced level in dance. Techniques taught include but are not limited to pa da boure, pirouettes, layouts, jazz slides, extensions, and facial emotions. Students will also learn how to use their emotions to match them to the song which creates a story through dance. The students will perform short dance at the end of class to Hello from Adele which includes the steps they learned in the class.
