In this class, students will learn what the meaning of the law. In week 1, students will learn where the laws came from though Hamurabi's Code, Greek and Roman Law, Biblical Law, and English Common Law traditions. In week 2, students will learn about the different types of law. In week 3, students will learn about the Constitution and Amendments that give us rights. In week 4, students will learn about Civil Rights. Throughout the course, students will explore what these laws mean and the rights and freedoms they have because of the law. Students will engage in discussion and end class with an interactive quiz on the Quizizz platform. Quizziz is an interactive platform used by teachers to gauge student understanding. Students will receive basic instruction in legal rights so that they learn to be good citizens who know their rights.
