Students will learn six steps to introducing themselves, meeting new people, and connecting acquaintances in various social settings. Learning will occur through a combination of direct instruction, modeling, practice/interaction with one another in partner and small group activities, and prompts/practice activities to interact with independently after live class session. Students will learn an acronym to help them remember and apply the six steps in real-life settings. -Each of the six steps...
Students will be able to state and perform steps to greet others, introduce themselves, and connect other people through conversation.
I have experience teaching a social-emotional curriculum to students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade, in whole class, small group, and one-on-one settings. I am comfortable working with students of all ability levels, and I believe everyone has an important perspective to offer!
Optional prompts and practice activities will be made available for the students to interact with independently, following the live session.
A one-page handout with prompts and suggested practice activities will be provided, for use after the live session.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive constructive verbal feedback regarding their interactions with one another while practicing during class session.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
