Students will be asked to participate in class, by answering questions and asking their own during our lab-like setting that allows a virtual hands on experience with horses.Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
We will have a “lab” course to show and experiment with how horses respond to the following senses connected to their nervous system: Class one: EYES - Sight/body language Class two: SKIN - Touch/handling Class three: EARS - Sound Class four: NOSE - Smell We will also discuss how a horse’s herd nature and wild instincts as a prey animal develop their “language.”
Learning Goals
Students will learn how horses communicate and recognize the reactions of domesticated horses at a horse farm. They will learn how horses position their body, vocalize, react and “hear” others with all four senses.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hilary has over three decades of experience working with horses. She owns a 15-horse barn and is a professional Dressage rider, as well as a mother and former journalist. Hilary has taught for over two decades and is an instructor and learner judge with the United States Dressage Federation.
