Intro to Greek Mythology (Teens)
Class experience
US Grade 9 - 12
Welcome to the who’s who of Greek Mythology. We will start where most stories start, at the beginning, with The Primordials and The Titans. We will then move onto The Olympians for 4 weeks. The next week will focus on Hades and The Underworld. After that we will wrap up with a week on Greek Heroes and a final class devoted to the Monsters in the myths. This class will include presentations, discussions, and interactive activities. I want this class to be as interactive as possible, and more...
Students will know about many of the key players in Greek Mythology and the parts they played.
I have been studying and learning about Greek Mythology since I was young. I don't have any formal training in it, but I would love to share what I have learned on my own with those who are interested. I wrote a lengthy school essay on transitions from Titans to the Olympians.
Homework Offered
There will be one homework activity for the students near the end of the course. This homework will be to create a digital collage to share with the class about one story from Greek Mythology. They will have 30 seconds-1 minute to explain the images they chose for the story they selected. At the end of Week Five, we will discuss the ones they have chosen to make sure that everyone has selected a different focus.Assessments Offered
