This course is designed for students with little to no experience with Google Sheets. Students will use Google Sheets to visualize world population data. Throughout the weeks, students will get an understanding of how to present quantitative information and communicate their findings. Week 1: Students will learn to access data online and open it in Google Sheets, learn to plot the data in a few different types of graphs (bar graphs, pie charts, maps) and add features to the graph (such as labels, axis, titles, legends) that make them easy to understand. Week 2: Students will learn to extract trends and patterns from their data. Week 3: Students will learn how to interpolate and extrapolate from their current data and model future patterns. Week 4: Students will create a Tableau-style infographic with data of their choice.

Parental Guidance
Dear parents & guardians,
This course will use 2 external resources:
1. Google Sheets (approved by Outschool, no account required) - where students will edit and plot data on a document that I will share with the class. Students can work independently or together on this document. Used in weeks 1-4.
2. Google Slides (approved by Outschool, no account required) - where students will create their own documents to present a tableau-style infographic of data. Students can work independently or together on this. Used in weeks 4.
During each class, I will guide students on how to use these resources. If you have any questions regarding these resources or the course, please don't hesitate to ask.
Best regards,
Afifa
