In this one session finance skills 101 class, we will learn about topics such as money management, budgeting tools and assets versus liabilities.

Informal assessment through group discussion asking thought provoking questions, and interactive activities to engage students.

Class Experience

Class/Session Topics Include (Subject to change):
-What is Money and How Does It Work?
-Assets vs Liabilities: Listing Out Examples of Each. Learn how to build more assets and take on less liabilities
-Financial Planning Using the 50/30/20 Rule: 50% to Needs, 30% to Wants, and 20% to Savings/Investments
-How to Create a Budget (Provided Resources for After Class)
-Habits and Characteristics of "Money Smart" People: Patient, Calculated, etc.

No required experience or knowledge is needed by the learners.

Learning Goals
Students will understand the value of saving and investing their money, learn how to create a budget to plan for their future, and discover the habits and tools "money smart" people use to be successful with their finances.

I may include my own personal experiences with money management and budgeting which some students may not completely agree with. Please understand that these are only meant to add value to the content and will not be shared as a requirement to achieving success. If you have any concerns about the content I will be presenting, please just send me a message prior to booking.

Pen and paper. Access to internet to research ideas. Optional but recommended: google sheets or excel for budget exercise
