Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Intermediate Level
If you enjoyed Intro to Fashion Design: Design Development, you will love this follow-up course!

In this 5-week workshop, designers will learn how industry professionals transform their sketches into reality. We will create our own tech pack using one of our flat sketches from Intro to Fashion Design, so make sure to have that project with you! We will reference our sketches, color palettes and fabrics as we think through how to communicate our vision properly. At the end of the course, learners will have a completed tech pack that can be added to their fashion design portfolio.

Week 1: Template set up and style selection
Week 2: Researching fabric information
Week 3: Researching trim information
Week 4: Construction details and industry abbreviations
Week 5: Sending out our tech pack and what happens next

*This class does NOT include sewing, pattern making, or draping. We will discuss their place in the process, but this course focuses solely on tech pack creation.

Please Note:
This course has NO LIVE MEETINGS. This allows learners to work at any time throughout the course, but please make sure to post each week's assignment within the given week. I will be actively engaging with learners in the "Classroom" tab and can always be reached there or through direct message!
