In this one-time class students will learn what executive function is along with simple strategies to strengthen time management, overcome procrastination + learn how to effectively organize, prioritize + plan their days.
Class experience
This Intro to Executive Function course is a perfect starting point to begin both middle school and high schoolers off on the right foot. This course is great for beginning the school year or returning from any extended breaks. Executive function is broken down into various sections: metacognition, working memory, planning, prioritizing, organization, procrastination and finally time management. Students will learn strategies to overcome basic challenges with executive function: time management, planning, prioritizing, organization + procrastination.
I have a Master's degree in special education along with a K-12 intervention specialist teaching license and I specialize in executive function for middle school + high school students.
Homework Offered
There will not be any homework for this course. Students are encourage to take notes of any strategies that they feel would be useful to them.Assessments Offered
There will be a class discussion to gain a basic understanding of the information being presented during class, otherwise, there is no formal assessment for this class.Grades Offered
I will supply all necessary materials prior to the start of class.
