What's included
5 live meetings
4 hrs 10 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This class is entirely application based - meaning we will be taking the crimes we have learned from Parts 2-5 an applying them to actual fact patterns. We will start with single-crime fact patterns, then move to multiple crime fact patterns, then finally to fact patterns with multiple crimes plus the application of criminal defenses. Each class will work like this:You will get the fact pattern(s) before class and do the work outside of class to prepare for the discussion in class. At the beginning of each class, we will go into breakout rooms with other students to talk over your results. Then we will come back together as a whole class to discuss our findings and get clarification on any issues. Here's the tentative schedule: Day 1 - Single-Crime Fact Patterns - A mix of Inchoate crimes, Crimes Against the Person, and Crimes Against Property - Purpose is to solidify understanding of all the crimes through repetition Day 2 - Single-Crime Fact Patterns - A mix of Inchoate crimes, Crimes Against the Person, and Crimes Against Property - Purpose is to solidify understanding of all the crimes through repetition Day 3 - Multiple-Crime Fact Patterns - A mix of Inchoate crimes, Crimes Against the Person, and Crimes Against Property - Increase difficulty with more life-like fact patterns that have a lot more detail with some misleading situations - Purpose is to solidify understanding of all the crimes through repetition Day 4 - Multiple-Crime Fact Patterns - A mix of Inchoate crimes, Crimes Against the Person, and Crimes Against Property - Increase difficulty with more life-like fact patterns that have a lot more detail with some misleading situations - Purpose is to solidify understanding of all the crimes through repetition Day 5 - Fact Patterns w/ Crimes and Defenses - A mix of Inchoate crimes, Crimes Against the Person, Crimes Against Property, and Criminal Defenses - Will take the position of a Prosecuting or Defense Attorney to assess scenarios that have all the aspects of real crimes
